Cooking Techniques
Use your oven or air fryer, since both can produce crispy food without oil. The air fryer is particularly effective because it circulates hot air around the food, mimicking the crispiness of frying.
Oven Method
Preheat your oven to the highest temperature it can go, usually between 450°F (232°C) to 500°F (260°C), before baking the fries.
Line a baking tray with parchment paper to prevent the fries from sticking and to make for easy cleanup.
Spread the potato strips in a single layer on the tray, making sure they are not touching. Season generously with desired seasonings (salt, pepper, garlic powder, Parmesan cheese, etc).
Bake the fries for 20-25 minutes, turning them halfway through the cooking time.
Air Fryer Method
Preheat the air fryer if required by the manufacturer’s instructions.
Place the potato strips in the air fryer basket in a single layer, working in batches if necessary. Season generously with desired seasonings (salt, pepper, garlic powder, Parmesan cheese, etc).
Cook at 400°F (204°C) for about 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket occasionally, until they are golden brown and crispy.
